TWU is ranked among the best in quality and affordability
TWU is one of the nation’s most affordable colleges. We recently earned the top position in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for graduates’ earnings versus cost, and 80 percent of our students who complete a graduate degree are working in Texas within one year of graduation.
Our Library and Information Studies, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy programs are nationally recognized, and we are the only university in Texas to offer PhDs in Dance, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Multicultural Women’s and Gender Studies.
We offer one-of-a-kind opportunities for study and research
With more than 60 advanced degrees, including 45 master’s and 16 doctoral programs of study, you can explore your passions in the area of your choice. Our flexible degree plans include courses offered in face-to-face, online and hybrid formats. TWU is also part of the Federation of North Texas Area Universities, which provides students enrolled in the federated program with unparalleled access to the combined academic resources of three universities.
As a graduate student, you will participate in hands-on, side-by-side research with accomplished faculty who are dedicated to helping you develop your skills as a scholar, practitioner, teacher and leader in your field.
Our learning environment is unique to you
We have a legacy of excellence
Graduate study began at Texas Woman’s University in 1930, and doctoral degrees were first awarded in 1953. Since its inception, the TWU Graduate School has held a strong reputation in nursing, education, health care, nutrition, business, social sciences, humanities, the arts and the sciences. Our long and distinguished history serves as the foundation for our continued legacy of excellence in higher education.
Accreditation
TWU is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees. Over 5,200 graduate students are enrolled at TWU in 70 master’s and 23 doctoral programs of study.
In addition to the university’s accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, specialized accreditations for state, regional and/or national professional association and boards speak to the quality of TWU’s academic programs.
